ZANACO unveil Pauline Zulu and Comfort Selemani….As Ladies side prepare for second round 

ZANACO Ladies football club new acquisitions, Pauline Zulu and Comfort Selemani were this morning officially unveiled as new players. 

The duo were acquired in November from Elite Ladies in a deal worth K300,000 in one of if not the biggest local transfer in Women’s Football. 

The duo have penned three year deals with the Bankers Ladies. 

“On the women’s front, We are equally excited to introduce two phenomenal talents joining Zanaco Ladies: Pauline Chisomo Zulu and Comfort Selemani. The two are joining us from the Elite Ladies’ FC and have signed a three-year contract with us. Zulu and Selemani bring experience and skills to the team. Both players have represented the country at U17, U20, and the senior women national team,” Club CEO Modest Hamalaabi said during a press conference on Wednesday morning. 

“Their addition is a testament to our commitment to strengthening and promoting women’s football. We are confident that they will inspire not just their teammates but an entire generation of young girls who dream of playing for this great club.”

Selemani is a member of the Zambia women’s national team and has proudly represented the country in the 2023 COSAFA tournament, where the country won silver, and the FIFA Women’s 2023 World Cup. Zulu is also a member of the Zambia women’s national team; she has represented the country at prestigious tournaments, including the 2024 Paris Olympics and COSAFA Cup. She was part of the 2023 and 2024 COSAFA Cup squads that won silver and gold, respectively.

We are confident that their addition will add value to the team,” he added. 

 Elite Ladies and ZANACO Ladies reached an agreement for the acquisition of the duo back November in a deal valued at K300,000. 

Comfort Selemani has cost the Bankers Ladies K130,000 while the fee for Pauline will include K70,000 cash and in-kind payment in terms of use of Sunset Stadium in lieu of payment of hire fees up to K100,000 (K170,000 in total).

The duo could make their debuts this weekend as ZANACO Ladies travel to Ndola to face log leaders, ZESCO Ndola Girls.
