Nigerian striker Austine Chingozie Iheanacho was signed while carrying a very serious knee injury, the ZamFoot Crew understands.
Iheanacho joined Lusaka based Zambian Premier League side, Sensational Zanaco in September last year.
The Nigerian penned a one year deal with the Bankers.
However the ZamFoot Crew understands that the former Ahli Tripoli player who joined Zanaco as a free agent was signed while carrying a serious knee injury.
“Yes it’s a disaster and no one knows how he was signed with a serious injury. He signed his deal before doing medicals which beats the point and is really confusing,” a source at Sunset Stadium told the ZamFoot Crew.
Iheanacho’s arrival was announced just a few days after the arrival of Super Eagles Legend Emmanuel Amunike as a consultant for the technical bench.
Iheanacho told Zanaco media that he was happy to be in Zambia and that he was here to work.
“I’m so grateful to be in Zambia and Zanaco. I Am so happy. I have watched the Zambian Super League on DSTV mostly Zanaco and Red Arrows,” he said.
“I came here to work and I will deliver what I came for and as a striker I need to score goals.”
Unfortunately since he was signed in September last year he is yet to kick a ball because of the knee injury.
