Zambia Super League side Zanaco Football club has confirmed the acquisition of Rwandese midfielder Nizeyimana Mirafa from East African top side Rayon Sport.
The club took to say social media to confirm the development. Mirafa has penned a two-year deal with the Bankers.
“Sensational Zanaco Football Club is delighted to announce the signing of Rayon Sports captain, Nizeyimana Mirafa.
The Rwandan international midfielder joins the Bankers on a two-year contract from Rayon Sport.”
Mirafa says he is honored to join the Bankers who he believes are one of the biggest clubs in the Zambia Super League. He revealed that he is targeting helping Zanaco to finish in the top four.
“Zanaco is one of the biggest clubs in the Zambian Super League, I feel honored to be part of this great club. I’m working very hard to establish myself and compete.”
“My target is to see Zanaco achieve a top 4 finish in the local league and at least group stage in the Champions League.”
Before his acquisition by the Bankers Mirafa was reported to be attending trials at Napsa Stars late last year.
Mirafa Nizeyimana comes from a footballing family. His older brothers Ismael Gikamba and Ibrahim Itangishaka play for Marines FC and Etincelles FC respectively.
He started his football education in a youth team coached by Mungo Jitiada ‘Vigoureux’ in Rubavu and later joined Marines FC.
He later moved to Etincelles before playing for some of the top elite clubs in the country that include; Police FC, APR FC, and Rayon Sports.
