Zanaco march past Green Buffaloes

Log leaders Zanaco remained on course for the league title when they narrowly edged town rivals Green Buffaloes 1 – 0 at Sunset stadium.

Midfielder Richard Kasonde scored the only goal of the game in a tightly contested match.

The win sees Zanaco move to 55 points 8 points ahead of Nkana.

In Choma, hosts Choma Eagles came from behind to get a point off a determined Napsa Stars side.

Collins Sikombe blasted past a lacklustre Satchmo Chakawa from close range in the 72nd minute 6 minutes after the Tenant Chilumba coached side had seen a shot come off the upright.

Percy Billiot benefited from a mistake by the Napsa goal-minder who dropped the ball on the striker’s foot when he failed to handle a cross to give the home side the only goal of the match.

Former U17 international Enock Mwepu had a good game in midfield for Napsa starting in the attacking role but ended the game in the holding role.

The draw sees Napsa move above Lusaka Dynamos who play tomorrow while Eagles also move a step up the log.

Felix Nyaende was in fine form as he scored a brace when Forest Rangers came from behind to snatch maximum points off Red Arrows with a 2 – 1 win.

Despite beeing denied on several occassions from open play, Nyaende scored his two goals from the penalty spot after Festus Mbewe had put the visitors ahead in the first half.

Malela Sapu also scored a brace when Lusaka Tigers beat Mufulira Wanderers 2 – 0.
