SUSPENDED under-17 national team coach Oswald Mutapa says he has taken responsibility for the disqualification at the Council of Southern Africa Football Association (COSAFA) Championship.
“I have no comment, the only thing I can say is that I have taken responsibility as someone who was in charge of the team and I think COSAFA has decided to do this [suspension] because I was in charge of the team,” said Mutapa in Lusaka yesterday.
COSAFA has banned Mutapa, team manager Collins Phiri and players Benjamin Phiri and Nicholas Mulilo.
The Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) suspended Mutapa and his entire technical bench soon after the team was expelled from the Cosafa U17 tournament.

Its good to accept but i dnt blame you,coz if we drew or lost that game to kenya (17) nothng could hav been said about the team its only that we won matches with many goal without conceding any,as far as am concerned zambia was nt the only team that had over aged players.
In our junior level you just have to use over age players if you are to win,
You can pick the right age but believe me you will get hammered, reason being
that we don’t have serious Academies think we only have one serious
Academy the all country.
So the right age doesn’t know the basics, we have to employ right people to
work with development only and not one person with 3 positions and he doesn’t
even know his job.
Come on Kamanga and Ponga find guys who can work with development football.
