League favorites Zesco United and Zanaco on Sunday afternoon played out to a goalless draw in a match played at Levy Mwanawasa Stadium.
With coach Zlatko Krmpotic out on compassionate leave, Zesco United assistant coach Tenant Chembo tried to refresh the team that only arrived in he country on Friday afternoon from a CAF Champions League fixture in Sudan on Wednesday.
Dauti Musekwa was back in the starting XI together with fit again Jackson Mwanza and Idriss Mbombo who came off the bench in Khartoum.
Zanaco also made three changes ro thw team that beat Wydad Casablanca with Zimiseleni Moyo coming in for Didi Kitumbo and Felix Nyaende starting ahead of Kwame Attram who was substituted in the first half in the Champions League fixture.
It was a closely contested affair but lacking in terms of goals.
Champions Zanaco will feel more comfortable with the result as it extends their unbeaten run to 8 games.
The draw sees both teams join Power Dynamos and Nkana on 15 points behind log leaders Napsa Stars who ate on 16 points.
Zanaco however stand in second position with Power Dynamos, Zesco United and Nkana trailing in position three and four respectively.
Zanaco and Zesco have a game in hand each.
In the early kick off, Buildcon moved up to 13th position on 10 points when they came from behind to beat Green Eagles 2 – 1.
Amos Tembo had given the visitors an early lead when he headed home a corner but the newly promoted side rallied back with late goals from Mustafa Essuman and Clifton Miheso in the 86th and 89th minutes of the game.
Jonas Sakuwaha captained Buildcon and gave a very good account of himself in attack.
This was only the second win for the foreign star studded team.
