Zanaco leaped from 9th to 4th on the MTN FAZ super league table after they beat Mighty Mufulira Wanderers 2 – 1 in Mufulira.
Goals from skipper Ziyo Tembo and Rodrick Kabwe were enough to ensure that the 2015 runners up maintain their 100% percent winning start to the season as they made it 4 out of 4 wins.
Zanaco who had not conceded a goal prior to this game were looking to maintain another clean sheet but they conceded from the spot late in the game for the game to end 2 – 1.
Newly appointed coach Ahmed Suliman was in charge of Mighty in the game.
The loss for Mighty sees them drop into 12th position with 8 points from 8 games.

This performance by Mighty is as a result of those useless and greedy officials who don’t have a heart for the club apart from filling their own pockets.These officials must be subjected to elections before they spoil our game.The players have spoken in confidence that they want their coach back.Therefore these useless officials have no choice but to adhere to the demands of the players,or else they will continue losing games.

After watching Zanaco huff and puff Yeh stumble into a victory, I’m now convinced that they are not good enough to be league champions. They have only one game plan and that is to jump the midfielders and five the ball to the strikers. That won’t work for long. In fact against mighty their goals came from St pieces. They struggled to create anything from open play. I think the Zanaco management should seriously think about bringing some entertainment factor to the team. How do you gather support when play like division 3 amateurs. There were no one twos, no triangles, no through balls, nothing. It was just some guys pumping the ball forward. Reminding me of primary school when the coach would say “kick the ball anywhere as long as it’s away from your goal.” I think a professional football team should have more ideas on how to go about the game. Zanaco supporters should be the first cry foul over such a lacklustre display.
