The 2016 Samuel ‘Zoom’ Ndhlovu Charity Shield semi final will take place this weekend at Lusaka’s Nkoloma Stadium.
In a lunch time kickoff, it will be a mini Lusaka derby as Bilton Musonda’s  ‘Zambia B’ Green Buffaloes face CAF Confederations Cup envoys Zanaco.
In a 3 pm kickoff, it will be the electicity Kopala derby with Zesco United taking on Power Dynamos.
A Buffaloes side, led by the ever green Chris Katongo is one of the early season bookmakers’ favourites for the league title after they thrashed a second tier Red Arrows side 3-0 side over the weekend.
Boasting the likes of Chris’ young brother Felix and Sebastian Mwansa, internationals Buchizya Mfune, Jack Chirwa, Adrian Chama, Stephen Kabamba and arguably Buffaloes’ influential midfielder Felony Sithoni, there’s a buzz at Independence Stadium that this could be their year for the long awaited league title.
While all eyes has been on Buffaloes after they had five players starting in Zambia’s first game at CHAN tournament, Zanaco has had a quiet pre-season.
Numba Mumamba, who is being considered for a role at one of the junior national team will hope the likes of Aaron Katebe, Seith Sakala and Gift Sakuwaha will come to the party.
In the second match, Zesco United coach is expected to unleash his foreign imports against Tenant Chilumba’s Power Dynamos.
There’s still some gelling to do at Zesco, but they remain title favourites.
