Zambian youngster Richard Ngoma joins Maccabi Netanya

Zambian winger Richard Ngoma has officially joined Israeli side Maccabi Netanya, the ZamFoot Crew can exclusively reveal.

The Zambia U-17 national team graduate played for Super League giants NKANA last season on loan from Athletico Lusaka.

The 18-year-old has now been loaned to the Israeli outfit with an option to make it permanent.

Richard will play with the U-19 this season and could earn himself a promotion to the main team depending on his performance.

The U-19 Israeli League has seen the likes of Kings Kangwa, Emmanuel Mayuka, Nathan Sinkala, and Emmanuel Mwiinde play and perform well while the likes of Rodgers Kola, William Njobvu, Lameck Banda, and Evans Kangwa all made their break in the Israeli top league.

From Israel players went to progress to other leagues like Switzerland ( Mayuka) Belgium ( Kola ) Cyprus ( William Njobvu ) Italy ( Lameck Banda ) Russia ( Kings Kangwa) Turkey ( Evans Kangwa).

In case the option to purchase will be triggered the contract will be extended in another 3 years to make it 4 years in total.

Ngoma says he is happy to make his move to Israel and has thanked Nkana fans and Mauro Sana for their support and help.

“I’m very happy and it’s a dream come true to play in Europe. I hope I will manage to put my stamp here. I want to thank fans of NKANA and all the red army.

I also want to thank Mauro Sana and Athletico Lusaka which is my home and family,” he said.

Super agent Nil Karin who facilitated the deal said he’s happy about the deal and has no doubt the future of Zambian football is in the likes of Richard Ngoma.

Netanya has won the Israeli championship twice in their history and they even played in the European cup this season.

The club has a modern facility with great stadium and thousands of fans who watch their home games.
