Zambian Coach Kelvin Kaindu Fired by Highlanders FC

Highlanders Football Club has announced the departure of Zambian head coach Kelvin Kaindu, effective immediately. 

The decision comes after a string of unsatisfactory results, prompting the club’s executive committee to make changes to the technical team.

According to a press release issued by Highlanders FC and accessed by The ZamFoot Crew, Kaindu’s exit was necessitated by the team’s recent performance. 

Highlanders have recorded one win in their last seven games and are currently sitting 9th on the log with 23 points after 17 matches. 

Kelvin Kaindu was re-appointed as head coach at the  Zimbabwean side back in 2023. 

Kaindu, 48, returned to Highlanders nine years after leaving the club having taken charge of the team from 2012 to 2014.

First Assistant Coach Try Ncube will take over as interim head coach, assisted by Second Assistant Coach Agent Sawu. The rest of the technical team members will maintain their roles.

Reaction from the Club

Highlanders FC wishes Kaindu well in his future endeavors and thanked him for his contribution to the club. The team’s executive committee expressed gratitude for Kaindu’s service, stating, “The club wishes coach Kelvin Kaindu the best in his future endeavors and thanks him for his contribution during his time of service.”

In Zambia Kaindu coached Nkana,Their bitter rivals Power Dynamos between 2018 and 2019 after returning to Zambia, and Buildcon.In Zimbabwe, Kaindu also coached  Triangle, and How Mine Football clubs.
