CAF Under-20 African Cup of Nations Group C matches have been switched due concerns on the state of the playing surface at the Alexandria Stadium.
Friday’s ties will now be played at Haras El Hodoud Stadium also in Alexandria.
The Haras El Hodoud Stadium will host the 16:00 tie between Tunisia and Benin, and then Zambia versus Gambia at 7pm.
“The CAF Organising Committee of the TotalEnergies U-20 Africa Cup of Nations Egypt 2023 and the Local Organising Committee met to discuss the state of the pitch at the Alexandria Stadium following the opening matches played there,” read a CAF statement
“Following deliberations and concerns on the state of the playing surface, the Organising Committee together with the LOC resolved to move the remaining matches from Alexandria Stadium to near-by Haras El Hodoud Stadium also in Alexandria.”
Gambia lead Group C on three points while Zambia and Benin are on a point each with Tunisia bottom.
