Zambia U17 national team started their 2017 COSAFA campaign on high note with a 7-1 thumping Madagascar. The Numba Mumamba tutored side were on fire with Man of the Match Martin Njobvu scoring a hatrick in the process.
Lameck Banda also scored a hatrick and Kingsley Hakwiya weighed in with the other to hand the young copper bullets an emphatic win .

Numba lauded the boys first half performance. Mumamba said he told the boys to score goals in the first to have a better chance of winning the match.
” The boys started on a high note. We agreed to score goes in the first half which the boys did and we hence we managed to push for the win,” said Numba
” We expect a tough Second game because Zambia and South Africa are rivals and these matches are never easy,” he added
Numba, Who is also Sensational Zanaco head coach says they were very thorough to make sure Zambia does not go through the embarrassment of disqualification like last year.
“This time we were very serious in teams of age cheating . The 20 boys we came with all passed the MRI scan according to the results from CAF,” Numba said
Zambia’s next game is on Monday against South Africa and a win will guarantee qualification to the quarter finals.
