Zambia U15 sharpening for Africa Schools, COSAFA qualifiers in South Africa

By FAZ Media

Zambia Under-15 boys national team coach Evaristo Mkandawire says his squad has responded well to training ahead of the Africa Schools Football Championship COSAFA qualifiers in South Africa.

Mkandawire says the team is taking shape and performing well in locally organised practice matches.

The Moomba Secondary School science teacher and CAF B coaching licence holder says the boys have shown plenty of industry since entering camp.

“So far we can say that the squad is taking shape. We started our training last week and we played Kafue Celtic Under-15, and in that game the boys showed character and beat that team 2-1 in one of the games played,” Mkandawire said.

“We had another friendly game against Aguila Under-17. We drew 0-0; but you are able to see that the team is getting ready.”

Mkandawire explained that his team will wrap up camp with a few more matches before finally declaring the boys ready for the COSAFA challenge in South Africa.

And John Musonda, a midfielder from Muchinga Secondary School in Lusaka, has hailed the high morale in camp.

Musonda explained that the team is playing as a unit and capable of overrunning opponents.

Meanwhile, Striker Emmanuel Mwape, a grade seven n pupil from Don Bosco School in Luwingu has declared that Zambia will win the championship and qualify for the Africa Schools Football Championship.
