The Zambia national team is set to play two international friendly matches against Ethiopia and South Sudan, The Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) has confirmed.
According to a statement from Football house, Zambia will face Ethiopia twice and Sundan once as part of coach Milutin ‘Micho’ Sredojevic’s preparations for the CHAN tournament and back to back Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Botswana next month.
Micho has since named a 23-man squad of local players to play the matches. Micho and his technical bench have retained most of the local players that were part of just-ended FIFA international window which saw the Chipolopolo play three matches against Malawi, Kenya, and South Africa.
Nkwazi goalkeeper Charles Muntanga, Zanaco defender Kebson Kamanga, Napsa Stars center back Luka Ng’uni, and Red Arrows midfielder Paul Katema have also been drafted into the squad.
The team enters camp on Tuesday 20 October and will jet-off to Ethiopia the following day. The local-based Bullets will face Ethiopia on Thursday and Sunday while they will square off with South Sudan on Saturday and Monday.
The Chipolopolo Boys will host Botswana on November 12 at National Heroes Stadium before traveling to Gaborone four days later.
