The Zambia National Team has moved up one place on the FIFA Coca-Cola rankings according to the new rankings released today by the World Football Governing body, FIFA.
The Chipolopolo Boys have moved up to 81st in the World and remains 16th in Africa on the the new FIFA Coca-Cola Rankings.
This follows Zambia’s busy FIFA window schedule in October that saw them play two international friendly matches in the United Arab Emirates.
The highest ranked team in Africa remains Morocco who are 13th in the World followed by Senegal who comes in at Number 20 and Tunisia is third at 29th in the World.
Zambia put up a gallant fight against Egypt before succumbing to a 1-0 loss and then beat Uganda 3-0 in their second match.
The 2012 African Cup of Nations Champions will be busy again next month as they open their FIFA World Cup qualifiers with a home tie against Congo Brazzaville on November 13, 2023.
A week later Zambia will be away in Niger on match day 2.
There are no changes in the top three in the World. Argentina (1st) maintain a healthy lead (8.18 points) over their closest challengers, France. Meanwhile, Les Bleus have cemented their grip on second place, extending the gap (which now stands at 40.91 points) between themselves and Brazil (3rd).
After being held to a 1-1 draw at home to Venezuela and succumbing to a 2-0 defeat away to Uruguay, A Seleção now have England (4th) breathing down their necks.
The next FIFA/Coca-Cola World Ranking will be published on 30 November.
