Zambia Under-20 edged out South Africa in the final of the Cosafa U20 Championship on Saturday at Lusaka’s Nkoloma Stadium.
Strikers Jonathan ‘Mbombo’ Munalula and Francisco Mwepu scored a goal each in the dying minutes of the first half as Zambia went to the break 2 nil up.
Second-half substitute Golden Mashata crossed for Munalula to complete the riot and give Zambia a well-deserved victory at home.
The win takes Zambia’s tally to a record 11 COSAFA U-20 titles with South Africa remaining second with their tally of eight titles.
