The Zambia CHAN Squad has arrived in South Africa to begin the final phase of the preparations for the CHAN tournament in Rwanda which kickoff on 16th January.
The George Lwandamina coach had an afternoon session in Johannesburg ahead of Sunday’s friendly match against Angola.
Meanwhile goalkeeper Jacob Banda who sat out Thursday’s training session at Lusaka’s Nkoloma Stadium took part in training. The Zesco United captain complained of flu symptoms.
During the final session at Nkoloma Stadium, Lwandamina took charge of training after his assistants Irfan Kawri and Kampamba Chintu had done with the boys.
Chintu, has continued in his role and in charge of the warm up for the boys while, Kawri has been responsible with the drills.
While Lwandamina has been has taken a back foot during training sessions since Kawri’s arrival, with the England based in-charge of the eight sessions, the former Mufulira Wanderers defender took charge of tactics as the team faced a lower tier side on Wednesday.
The trend continued on Thursday afternoon as the team worked on set pieces and counter attacking drills.
Lwandamina also rightly so tinkered with what looked like his A-side after Wednesday’s lucklustre.
Chris Munthali, who partnered Buchizya Mfune in defence and midfielder Benson Sakala were relegated to the B-side and came in Clatus Chama and Saulani Phiri as Adrian Chama dropped into defence while Saulani joined Isaac Chansa and Mwape ‘Tozizi’ Mwelwa in the engine room.
Chama joined Chris Katongo and Mwila Phiri Jnr in attack with Dauti Musekwa and Stephen Kabamba as a full backs.
On the under -5s side, Donashamo Malama, Munthali, George Chilufya and Solomon Mukuka as the back four.
The midfield had Sakala and Jack Chirwa while Spencer Sautu and Patson Daka on the flanks.
Adamson Mulao and Conlyde Luchanga in attack.

The dropping of C. Munthali and B. Sakala to B side is a step forward in building a strong side.
Who can help me the reason why Moses Phiri is not in CHAN squad.
That is buffling me also.
Lwandamina gave an interview with regards to that. He would have loved to have included him but their non-footballing reasons to why he is been left out.
Well done ZamFoot…good follow up response…now we know..
Pamo na luka lungu

Chipolopolo puts in solid performance as Zambia beats Angola in CHAN warm up
FT: Angola 1-2 Zambia
UJ Stadium, Johannesburg
Cletus Chama and Mwila Phiri scored either side of a Duarte Nicolau goal to lead Zambia to a 2-1 win over Angola’s Palancas Negras as both sides warmed up for CHAN finals which get underway in Kigali on January 16.
George Lwandamina fielded two different teams in each half as he assessed the preparedness of his 23-man assemblage.
With the solid performance from both sides, Lwandamina will be left with the luxurious headache of who to start when Zambia opens her campaign against Zimbabwe on 19 January.
Skipper Chris Katongo enjoyed a good chat, with good runs by Isaac Chansa, Mwila Phiri, Stephen Kabamba while the rest of the squad members strongly staked their cases for starting berths. Backlines anchored around Buchizya Mfune in the first half team and Donashano Malama in the second were as solid and reassuring as were goalkeepers Jacob Banda and Racha Kola.
Thankx guys continue wth same sprit,we want 2 0 against zimzim.i like this.
Zim Zim is arrogant and they fight like ants!
We want Chipolopolo players in the picture not those with tummies full of God knows what.
seleniko ala!
