The action from the Lusaka Province Division 1 continues as Misisi have a chance of going top should they win against Sable Bulls following the defeat for Young Green Buffaloes against Young Napsa.
The league leaders Young Green Buffaloes suffered a major setback as they look to qualify for the National League. Saturday afternoon in the week 21 fixture, Paul Chella and Michael Musonda goals were not enough for them to cancel out the three goals Young Napsa scored through Rodger Shakami, Kennan Phiri, and Chola Kasongo.
Despite the loss , Michael Musonda’s goal gives him an advantage as he continues to lead the scorers’ chart with 11 goals.
Kallio Celtic’s 3-0 win over Kabwata Dynamos makes them swap the positions on the table as they move one step out of the relegation zone. Kallio has now won 3 games this season and moves to 16th place while Kabwata dropping to 17th place.
Chongwe United seems to have lost their form of winning as they suffered a 1 nil defeat at home to Airport Warriors. Chongwe United has now lost 3 games in a row and is not far from the relegation area. Airport Warriors are still pressing on as the door is still open for them to catch up and go back on the top of the table.
The action continues tomorrow on Sunday as Misisi has a date with struggling Sable Bulls at Katwishi ground. Just a win will be enough for them to go top of the table following the leaders Young Buffaloes’ defeat.
At Sunset stadium bottom-placed Young Zanaco will host 7th placed happy Hearts as a win will see them go one step up, but still in the relegation on position number 17. Happy Hearts will be looking forward to getting a win and make it three wins in a row.
Fewdays Musonda’s Shamuel who are coming from a 1-0 win over Kabwata Dynamos in the midweek, will host 11th placed Chainda Bombers who registered a 2-1 win over Chongwe United on Wednesday. A win for either side will build more confidence in them as they both come from a winning drought before the last fixtures.
Lusaka City Council will have a tricky afternoon as they square off with Athletico Lusaka and will look to return to winning ways after collecting only 1 point from their last two fixtures. For Athletico Lusaka, as their coach earlier mentioned, their focus is playing National League next season and will go for nothing less but a win.
