The Zambia Under-20 return to Heroes Stadium tonight in what is expected to be a mouthwatering tie in Group B fixture against the highly rated Mali.
After a round of match day 1 matches, the script is not going to plan for the tournament favourites.
In Ndola, South Africa stunned Cameroon with an emphatic 3-1 win while minnows Sudan was close to upset had it not being for a late goal from Senegal.
At Heroes Stadium, buoyed by 60, 000 fans, the home side beat Guinea 1-0 while Mali and Egypt played to a goalless stalemate in a highly tactical and technical match.
Back to match day 2 games in Lusaka, Guinea will be going for a win against the much fancied young Pharaohs in a 15h00 kickoff.
At 6pm, Zambia will welcome Mali’s test. A win for the Junior Chipolopolo will book them a place at the World Youth Championship in Korea.
In order to achieve that feat, coach Beston Chambeshi is likely to bring in the impressive Emmanuel Banda to add creative and balance to the midfield.
Nkana defender Moses Nyondo has caught the eye and he will be hoping his captain Solomon Sakala will kill off the nerves he had in the first game.
Shemmy Mayembe and Prosper Chiluya will continue as full backs while the ever reliable Mangani Banda starts in goal.
The Zambian defence should be wary of Koita.
Upfront Edward ‘Tiger’ Chilufya and Fashion Sakala will be the wingers with Patson Daka being the lone striker.

All i can say is good luck Junior Chipolopolo, I know it wont be easy but be at ease Mali is quite technical team. I prefer the “shock and Awe” tactic in the first 15 min is good to disturbilise the Malians within those 15min pump in 1 goal otherwise it will be a seesaw kinda of affair the whole 90min! Go Zambia!
