The Zambia U20 Women’s National Team has booked a place in the final of the ongoing COSAFA U20 Girls Championship| Region V Youth Games following a 5-0 thrashing of Botswana.
Zambia needed only five minutes to open the scoring, Bwalya Namute Chileshe getting on the end of a Ruth Mukoma pass to slot home from close range.
The Charity Nthala coached side created a lot of chances but could not convert and had to wait for the 34th minute to double the lead, Namute scoring from 12 yards after Ruth Mukoma was fouled inside the 18 yard area.
Mukoma benefited from a lapse in defense to slot home from close range and make it 3-0 to take Zambia to the break with a comfortable 3-0 lead.
In the second stanza, Zambia picked up where they left off in the first with Saliya Mwanza netting a brilliant long range strike to make it 4-0.
Ruth Muwowo came off the bench to seal the win with a close range tap in after being set up by Bwalya Namute Chileshe in additional time.
Zambia are still yet to concede a goal and have now scored 24 goals in just four games so far in this competition.
The Young Copper Queens will face the winner between South Africa and Namibia in the final of this year’s Tournament.
