The Zambia U20 Women’s National Team picked up where they left off at the ongoing COSAFA U20 Girls Championship| Region V Youth Games as they thrashed Angola by eight goals to nil to book a place in the Semifinals.
Blessings Zangose Zulu opened the scoring with a brilliant free kick strike eight minutes into the first half.
Saliya Mwanza doubled the lead with an even better free kick. The Elite Ladies play maker made it 3-0 with a goal direct from the corner kick.
Bwalya Namute Chileshe went on a solo run to score the fourth goal before Victoria Mbali could walk in the fifth goal.
Eunice Bwalya made it 6-0 from a penalty spot after an Angolan defender handled the ball inside the box blocking a Blessings Zulu goal bound shot.
The match went to break with Zambia leading by a 6-0 lead.
The Young Copper Queens made it 7-0 seconds into the second stanza with a Bwalya Namute Chileshe netting her second of the match.
Mbali also scored her second of the match in the 66th minute to seal an emphatic win.
The victory takes Zambia into the semifinals as they ensured they cannot finish outside the top two in the pool.
Saliya Mwanza was named as the player of the match thanks to her performance.
Zambia will complete their group stage games with a match against bottom placed Eswatini.
