Young Buffaloes coach Josephat Mulenga took a dig at both Nkana and the players during a pre-match press conference held at Heroes Stadium on Friday.
Mulenga said his team can not be afraid of players who don’t even make it to the national team.
“We have played bigger teams to reach this far who had big players. With or without Mbombo we are ready to take on Nkana. He is just like any other player moreover if you look at these players of nowadays they are not even called to the national team so why should we be intimidated,” he said.
He was also quick to point out that Nkana had failed to win the Barclays Cup despite participating several times as compared to his team who were doing so for the first time.
” Nkana have never lifted the trophy despite featuring in this tournament for some time but this is our first time to reach this far and hence we have power to lift the trophy, ” he said.

Lighton Kasolota who is the captain of the side said the Cup was very important as they needed to pay back to the sponsors for the support.
“It’s very important cup to the club. We were aiming to win the league but if we can win the cup we will be paying back to our sponsors,” he said.
Nkana and Young buffaloes will go head to head this afternoon at the National Heroes Stadium for the chance to lift the prestigious Barclays Cup trophy.
