YASA Queens were at their ruthless best this afternoon as they thrashed Lusaka Dynamos Ladies 4-1 in a 2020/21 FAZ Women’s Super League Week 10 match, Lusaka derby played at Hospice Grounds.
This was arguably YASA’s greatest performance in the league so far especially that they picked up maximum points against one of the league’s favorites, The Elite Ladies.
YASA found the back of the net through Thanda Onneila Mogkabo, Christine Nyirongo, Catherine Ng’ambi, and Florence Kasonde while Dynamos scored their consolation goal through Eunice Namfukwe who is actually a former player for YASA.
This is the second victory for Stubborn YASA in this Inaugural women’s super league which has made them move up to 8th place on the log standings with 14 points to their name.
YASA’s next assignment is an away tie on Wednesday, May 19, 2021, at Lusaka’s Independence Stadium against Zambian Institute for Sustainable Development (ZISD) Women Football Club while Lusaka Dynamos will welcome ZESCO Ndola Girls at NASDEC Sports Complex in another stern test for the Elite Ladies.
Elsewhere on the Copperbelt Province, Indeni Roses defeated Mufulira Wanderers 5-3 in an 8-goal thriller at Shinde Stadium.
It was a sweet victory for the new coach Wisdom Kaira for the Roses who scored through Mwaka Mupeta, Serah Moyo, Esther Mushota, Grace Kamanga as well as Thelma Phiri while Wanderers found the back of the net through Mary Mulenga with a brace while Ngosa Chabwe had a goal.
The win takes Roses to second place tied on 16 points with log leaders Green Buffaloes who have a better goal difference.
Roses will play host to National Assembly in another interesting fixture to look out for on Wednesday, May 19, 2021, while Wanderers will have to wait to whether their game against Red Arrows will be played or not considering several Arrows players currently in camp with the senior women’s national team.
