Full-Time Scores From ZNS Rugby Ground, Kabwe
Queens Sport Academy 1-1 Red Arrows Women
(Cindy Banda | Ochumba Lubanje Oseke )
Red Arrows Women Football Club’s title hopes suffered a minor setback after being held to a disappointing 1-1 draw by Queens Sport Academy in a rescheduled 2022/23 FAZ Women’s Super Division match week 30 played at ZNS Rugby Ground on Wednesday afternoon.
Red Arrows were going into this game knowing that a victory would take them 6 points clear at the summit of the table above second-placed Green Buffaloes Women Football Club who have 69 points with two games in hand against The Elite Ladies this afternoon and next week with Prison Leopards who are also aiming to fight against relegation.
Queens Academy on the other hand were hoping to move into the top 10 bracket.
Cindy Banda who scored last weekend against National Assembly was on the scoresheet yet again as she put Queens Academy in the lead in the opening 30 minutes and her goal separated the two sides at the break.
Red Arrows came back more organised in the second half as they pushed for goals and it was Ochumba Lubanje Oseke who got back on the scoresheet as she equalised in the 65th minute to make it 1-1.
Neither side could find the winner and the two teams shared the spoils, a similar result to one which was recorded in the reverse fixture played at Nkoloma Stadium in Lusaka which saw Arrows scoring with their last kick at the death through Ochumba in that particular match to cancel Agness Phiri’s goal for Queens.
