Red Arrows Women and YASA Queens recorded big wins on Sunday while ZANACO edged Trident Queens with Amazing Grace shocking National Assembly.
The action from week 12 of the ZPL Women’s Super League continued on Sunday with some exciting matches.
Early kick offs in the Matero area saw Luyando Foundation Girls welcome Red Arrows Women at Independence Stadium while YASA Queens played host to ZISD.
Luyando Foundation Girls were no match for Red Arrows Women as the visitors were 3-0 up in the opening 30 minutes and went on to win the match 4-1. Masela Sekeseke came off the bench to score the fourth goal, Mwaziona Sakala, Mary Mambwe and Faith Tembo were the other scorers for the Airwomen.
At OYDC, Eunice Bwalya was the star of the day as she scored a brace and literally controlled the midfield in YASA Queens 4-0 win over ZISD.
Harriet Matipa and Veronica Misozi Phiri scored a goal each.
In Kabwe , Ruth Muwowo came up big again for Amazing Grace scoring a brace in the 2-1 win over National Assembly.
The win sees Amazing Grace move up to 15th place.
In Chipata, Chipata Girls Kamfinsa Police Blue Eagles played out to a 1-1 draw. A late Esther Mbewe goal had Chipata Girls dreaming of a first win of the season only for Happy Machayi to cancel it out two minutes later.
At Sunset Stadium, ZANACO Ladies beat Trident Queens 2-1 thanks to goals from Regina Chanda and Tisilile Lungu.
Chanda put the Bankers Ladies in the lead just 22 seconds into the match but Ruth Chinyama leveled matters from the penalty spot in the 22nd minute.
In the second half, Substitute Lubasi Pumulo sent in a brilliant cross and Tisilile Lungu was at the other end to pounce with a brilliant headed finish to seal the hard fought win.
