Chipolopolo in Bafana Bafana tricky test as Sichone starts tenureĀ 

The Chipolopolo Boys will this afternoon face off with COSAFA rivals, Bafana Bafana of South Africa in a FIFA international Friendly match.

The two of ilm square off at 15h00 at the Nelson Mandela Stadium in Gqerberha with pride and bragging rights at stake for both sides. 

Former Chipolopolo defender Moses Sichone and his technical staff will be handling the match as their first assignment. 

The whole local technical bench will test their technical acumen against experience Belgian gaffer  Hugo Broos who recently inspired Bafana Bafana to a World Cup qualification. 

The match is being used to prepare for the Morocco 2025 Africa Cup of Nations which kicks off next month. 

Toaster Nsabata, Francis Mwansa , Charles Kalumba and Mangani Banda will battle for a place between the sticks. 

Mwansa and Nsabata have the experience and look like favourites while Mangani could be given a chance to start given his fine form with Kabwe Warriors. 

At the back Kabaso Chongo is expected to start alongside Benson Sakala with Gift Mphande and Obino Chisala.

Sichone also has Killian Kanguluma, Frankie Chisenga Musonda, and newcomers Owen Mwamba and Chanda Chileshe. Youngsters David Hamansenya, ans Mathews Banda are also available for selection.

In Midfield Miguel Chaiwa is back in the set up and expected to start in the defensive midfield role. 

Youngsters Gift Siame, Pascal Phiri, David Simukonda, Kelvin Mwanza and Rickson Ng’ambi are looking to get their big start in the big COSAFA showdown. 

Others available for selection are Given Kalusa, Solomon Mpasela, Humphrey Mwamba and ZANACO’s Wilson Chisala. 

Upfront, Leicester City top man Patson Daka is expected to start alongside Fashion Sakala and Lubambo Musonda. 

Kennedy Musonda, Albert Kangwanda, Joseph Banda, Jack Lahne Kalichi, Eliya Mandanji and Andrew Phiri are all available for selection.  

Broos on the other hand will bank on skipper and goalkeeper Ronwen Williams to control the defense and make sure the Chipolopolo don’t find a way through.

Teboho Mokoena and Khuliso Mudau are expected to be key with Burnley forward Lyle Foster, and Iqraam Rayners likely to lead the attack. 

Kickoff is at 15h00 with the match live on SABC and ZNBC TV3.
