The Zambia U20 Women’s team were on Saturday afternoon booted out of the Papua New Guinea World Cup qualifiers when they went down 3 – 2 away against South Africa.
The Zambians put up a spirited performance against a determined South African side but the failure to use home ground advantage when they drew 0 – 0 at home saw them miss out on a ticket to the final round of the qualifiers on a 3 – 2 aggregate scoreline.
Barbara Banda and substitute Agness Mukwesa were on target for the Zambian lasses as they twice level scores but they were undone by a 73rd minute volley from Linda Motlahlo who scored a brace in the game.
Despite rallying late, the Zambians failed to find the all important goal to take them through the third round.
It was sweet revenge for Batsesana after the U17 women’s team was dumped out of the race to the world cup in the final round qualifier in their own back yard by the same Zambian team which has graduated to U20.

Wow stanley thats some foolish and ignorant post…u really are a fool no wonder people dont respect Zambians, its coz of people like you
sad we have lost but going by the scoreline,it wasnt just our time.welldone team & remain focused. To FAZ,pliz strengthen the womens league if we r to perform like nigeria, south africa & the likes. To all stakeholders, especially parents, lets help in gud nurturing of the lads in terms of behaviour mo importantly outside the field of play. like male futbalaz, alot of them drink beer a lot-making them nt to go anywhere fades off wen xpected to mature.
bro stanley, bring in factors which wil motivate the girls to do better unlike name calling. Reduce it to a home level where yo girl child fails to make it to grade 10, is that the best u can tell her? u can do something to change their performance bro.2GEZA WE CAN DELIVER BRO.
Awe ba Stanley tekanyenifye. These same gals you want to dump into prostitution did us proud not too long ago. Yes it’s disappointing to lose like this but it’s not the end of the world.

Disappointing it may be but i think our women’s soccer is going somewhere. Not too long ago it would have been a 10-0 aggregate scoreline. Well fought girls, keep on improving bit by bit…results of your hard work will soon show
