  4. IN KING DAVID THE COACH BELIEVES

NEWLY promoted PSL side Highlands Park coach Allan Freese says he is satisfied with Chipolopolo striker Collins Mbesuma and the signings that the team has made and is confident the club will be competitive in their first season in the PSL.
Following their promotion via the Pay-offs Highlands have brought in Mbesuma, Thanduyise Khuboni, Zamuxolo Ngalo, Khethukuthula Zwane, Junior Sibande, Charlton Mashumba, Brandon Theron, Augustine Mbara, Edwin Sitayitayi, Seun Ledwaba, JP van der Merwe and Lebogang Ditsele.
“I think we have signed in the right positions and we are hoping that we can get together as quickly as possible so that the players can gel. For us as a team and me as a coach the first priority is to stabilise the team. I am happy because if we get too many players then we will get confused. We have some experienced guys that will come and help to take the team forward. With the squad that we have I firmly believe we will compete. I would like us to end as high as possible after consolidating our place. Let us see where we end but it has to be as high as possible,” says Freese.

  5. MAYUKA SEEKS CHINA MOVE, AS LOTTIE TRIES OUT IN EGYPT

CHIPOLOPOLO striker Emmanuel Mayuka is poised to ditch Egyptian giants Zamalek and trek to China, Zambian Football KICK OFF can reveal.
Mayuka joined the Egyptian side early this year after ending a spell in Europe which saw him campaign in Israel, Switzerland, England and France. The ZamFoot crew understands that the 2012 Africa Cup top scorer is allegedly frustrated at irregular fulfilment of financial terms of his contract by Zamalek.
The financial frustrations by a Zambian player in Egypt will not be new as Felix Katongo left Ittihad Alexandria over money matters.
Mayuka final destination in China is yet to be sealed.
As Mayuka seeks to move, Green Buffaloes striker Lottie Phiri has traveled to the North African nation seeking a move away from GBFC. Lottie has been out for about two weeks now and is yet to conclude anything.
Lottie started the 2016 on a sound note and technical experts rated him as one of the most intelligent strikers in the league. He allegedly was being keenly monitored for a return to the Chipolopolo.

  6. @Sade, I can only find old stuff on this Zambian Football Kick off site – maybe I am going to the wrong one. Please advise on the actual link.

  7. Highlands Park have also handed trials to Zambian striker Mwape Musonda. Hopefully he gets something as well.

  8. CHIPOLOPOLO COACHING JOB LATEST :

Sebastien Desabare has arrived at Football House to attend interviews for the Chipolopolo top job. The interviews, according to the ZamFoot crew which is gathered with other sports journalists at Football House, will be conducted by the members of the FAZ executive committee, technical committee, selected football commentators and other select personnel. 9. DESABARE INTERVIEWED, SACKED BY ALGERIAN SIDE WHICH WANTS TO DEMAND COMPENSATION FROM FAZ?

COACH Sebastien Desabare has been interviewed by FAZ but the 40 year old French born coach had to wait for more than four hours before an interviewing panel could be constituted.
And FAZ may face a huge compensation demand from Algerian side JS Saoura for allegedly approaching their coach without their permission.
The ZamFoot crew, which camped at Football House together with sports journalists and cameramen from the daily papers, witnessed Desabare ushered to the FAZ boardroom by FAZ deputy secretary general Lombe Mbalashi at about 12:25hours. The Frenchman arrived at Football House at about 08:30hrs.
However, interviewers were not at Football House. The panel included FAZ executive committee member Dr Joseph Mulenga, Technical committee member Freddie Mwila, Mbalashi, soccer commentator Iva Lengwe and two other officials.
Desabare refused to speak to the media after the interview which lasted for about an hour.
However, reports are emerging that Desabare left his Algerian club allegedly after indicating that he needed to attend to private matters without stating that he was headed for Zambia. The ZamFoot crew is trying to verify reports that JS Saoura are now prepared to sack him and demand compensation from FAZ for approaching their contracted coach without their knowledge and permission. • This is embarrassing. I think we need to up our game in professionalism. Ponga, its disappointing that your management took 3 hours to constitute an interview panel – this shouldn’t be the case. Furthermore, you kinow very well the implications of interviewing someone under contract ! did you honestly think you would sneak him in without any leaks ??? beniko serious ba FAZ !

    • FAZ needs a full time President who can dedicate time and energy to fixing this dysfunctional zoo of an organization. This is unacceptable at any level and us very embarrassing to say the least. At what point do we start conducting ourselves with dignity kanshi. Surely all it would have taken is a simple call or email to this team to request their permission and secondly, how do we get commentators interviewing a coach. we might as well get Zamfoot bloggers to do the job. Is the the professionalism Kamanga made up believe he was bringing to FAZ?

  10. Going to play in China may be the best course for Mayuka. Let’s not forget that Mbesuma seemed to have bottomed out some years ago in Turkey but then bounced back. Mayuka is only 25 after all! China has been good to Mulenga, Chamanga, Katongo, and Sunzu. It could do the same for the career of Mayuka. If he loves to play the game, then he will rise again. Chipolopolo!

  11. Mayuka is way too talented a soccer player for this see-saw drama to be happening in his career. Hope he gets something in China because everyone has to eat anyway.

All the best to Zesco tonight.x

  12. Asec Mimosa 1 – Zega 1. Good one fellas! Lwandamina is coming out good when his plate is not too full. Pali focus iyikali nomba!

  13. Wydad lost to al ahly, so we are level on points with them at 7. anyone can qualify from this group, unless my calculator is not serving me right ?

  14. @ don….we have one home match n an away game(zesco)……if only we can win one.we should avoid losing at all costs

Al Ahly fire warning shot at Zesco United

Al Ahly on Wednesday night overturned the order in Group A after ending Wydad Casablanca’s 15 year old unbeaten home record in continental action to give their hosts in August’s Zesco United something to ponder about.

The record 8-time African champions beat Group A leaders Wydad 1-0 away in Rabat to collect their first win in the league phase of this years competition.

Rami Rabia headed in the games lone goal in the 46th minute to send ripples in Group A.

Wydad were unbeaten at home in continental cup action action since 2003 where they lost 1-0 to Etoile du Sahel in the defunct CAF Cup Winners Cup semifinals to see the Tunisians advance 3-0 on aggregate.

With that result, Al Ahly leave the basement of Group A for the first time to relegate ASEC Mimosa of Cote d’Ivoire from 3rd to bottom of the log tied on 4 points.

Al Ahly now hosts Zesco on August 12 in a make-or-break, penultimate Group A match at home in Egypt.

Meanwhile, Wydad continue to lead Group A tied with Zesco on 7 points after both sides early semifinal hopes were halted on Wednesday.

Zesco rallied to draw 1-1 away at ASEC in Abidjan.

  16. Mayuka was on the bench for Zamalek in their loss to Sundowns. What’s the real truth around Mayuka?

Zesco has come out shinning, only one win away from the semi-finals.

Congrats to our Southern Afrcan brothers Sundowns for qualifying with a game in hand and who so far are the best team in both groups.

Hope we could have an all Southern Africa final.

    • …but that win will not come easy. Our last two games are against Arabs ! ( no guarantees for winning with these chaps ) I watched Wydad – they are very good and I think a cut above Zesco technically and talent wise. They have the capability to beat us even at home. As for Al ahly, we have seen what they can do when they turn up right. they hammered Wydad away breaking their 15 year unbeaten run. Expect them to be at their best when we play them. Basically, we need the Zesco that turned up against Al Ahly in the last two games – yikakosa !!

Kenya are now through to the semi-finals of the competition after the young Chipolopolo were tossed out on Thursday

Zambia have been disqualified from the on-going Cosafa U-17 tournament for fielding over age players.

The decision by Cosafa now means Kenya are through to the semi-finals of the competition after the young Chipolopolo were tossed out on Thursday. Football Kenya Federation had lodged a complaint with Cosafa organizers after they had lost to Zambia 4-0 in their opening match of the tournament in Mauritius.

FKF Media Officer Barry Otieno confirmed to Goal the latest move that gives Kenya another chance to go for the title. “Yes it is true Zambia have been disqualified and Kenya goes through to semis and will face South Africa. We are very happy that justice has finally been served.”

Kenya were already out of the tournament having lost their last Group match 5-0 to Malawi. The Kenyans coached by Andreas Piers however, managed to beat Madagascar 2-1 in another Group match.

Kenya, who are participating as guest team, will now face South Africa in the semis on Friday.
