Zambia National team midfielder Klings Kangwa says the team has already put the win over Tanzania behind them and are focused on Sunday’s clash against Niger.
The Chipolopolo Boys fresh from an important 1-0 away win over Tanzania are set to host Niger in their final 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier.
Niger beat Zambia 2-1 in the reverse fixture and Kangwa feels the Chipolopolo have a good chance to avenge the loss.
“I think it was a good game. We needed to win. We needed these three points which we got. We are happy, we are excited, but now it’s in the past. We are already looking forward to Sunday and we have another difficult game coming up. We lost in Niger and we didn’t play our best, so we have an opportunity, we have a big chance at home with our fans, with everyone. So we are excited and we are prepared for this game,” Kangwa said.
“We are expecting the same. We are asking the fans to come and give us the support, come and give us the boost. So please come with numbers. We need you, especially in this important game. So let’s bring the support. This is the last game of the qualification, so we want to finish strong. Also, we are at home, we want to finish in a good way. Also, it’s very, very, very important to finish second, and then after we’ll see what happens,” he added.
The Hapoel Be’er Sheva midfield ace believes the Chipolopolo Boys have a good squad and just need to keep working hard.
“Also, it will give us another boost for what’s coming ahead. We have AFCON soon, so each and every game now is going to be for us as part of preparation, the players, and like I always say, we have a good team. We just need to continue working hard. We need to continue supporting each other.”
The Chipolopolo Boys will host Niger at Levy Mwanawasa Stadium on Sunday, October, 12th with kick off set at 15h00.
