The Zambia Super League will this weekend enter week 22 of action with log leaders Red Arrows hosting relegation-threatened, Konkola Blades.
Defending Champions, Zesco United welcome stubborn Kafue Celtic while embattled Lusaka Dynamos welcome draw specialists Forest Rangers.
Red Arrows vs Konkola Blades
Log leaders Red Arrows will welcome resurgent Konkola Blades at Nkoloma Stadium on Saturday.
Chisi Mbewe’s Airmen are looking to make it 17 games without defeat in the local league. Konkola Blades on the other have somehow turned a cornet since the arrival of Charles Bwale as head coach and are on a 3 match unbeaten run.
Sharp Razor will however have to work hard to end Arrows’ unbeaten streak having last beaten Arrows in 2014 and are winless in the last five meetings.
A win for Arrows will take them to 45 points while should Konkola Blades pull off a shocker they will move to 20 points and closer to safety.
Lusaka Dynamos vs Forest Rangers
In the earlier at the same venue struggling Lusaka Dynamos will welcome draw specialists, Forest Rangers.
Elite are winless in seven matches and are desperate for maximum points to retain any hope of remaining in the Zambian top flight.
Fole Malembe on the other hand have drawn 12 matches, the most so far this season joint with Zanaco.
Forest have managed to avoid defeat against Lusaka Dynamos in the last five meetings and are favorites to win the match as Lusaka Dynamos have lost all their dependable players.
ZESCO United vs Kafue Celtic
Defending Champions, ZESCO United will be looking to continue their newly found form when they welcome youthful Kafue Celtic at Levy Mwanawasa Stadium.
The Numba Mumamba tutored outfit have only only lost once in their last six games and are looking to keep pilling pressure on log leaders, Red Arrows.
Celtic on the other hand are winless in last seven games and only have one win to their name in 14 matches.
Numba could give midfielder Collins Sikombe his debut in Zega Mambo colors after completing his switch from Lusaka Dynamos.
The Crocs may not be having the best of form but the last time the two teams met they came out tops with a 2-0 win.
Forward Albert Kangwanda has been having a great season is expected to give the ZESCO defenders a tough time but Numba Mumamba also has quality in his arsenal with the likes of Kelvin Mubanga Kampamba , Chanda Mukuka and Spencer Sautu.
Indeni vs Kansanshi Dynamos
The January transfer window big spenders Kansanshi Dynamos will be looking to get their first win since 11th December, 2021 when they beat Lusaka Dynamos 1-0.
They however face an Indeni side that wants to get back to winning ways after suffering a narrow 1-0 defeat away to ZESCO United.
The Oilomen have one loss in 7 matches and are keen to move into the top half of the table.
The only ever meeting between the two teams ended 2-1 in favor of Indeni who came from a goal down to beat the Mabanga Boys thanks to goals from Martin Phiri and Cephas Handavu.
With the likes of Jesse Jackson Were, Marvin Jere , Bruce Msakanya and Dave Daka on his squad, Boyd Mulwanda will be looking to start his life in Solwezi on a winning note.
Power Dynamos vs Buildcon
Striker Brian Mwila will face his former employers when Powerful Power Dynamos welcome Buildcon at Arthur Davies Stadium.
Abayellow and Team Kopala will be battling for a place in top four as they sit just outside within two and three points respectively of continental places.
Mwenya Chipepo has made a beautiful turn around at Arthur Davies Stadium with only one loss in their last 13 games but they have drawn all their last three games and not scored a single goal in those three games.
Team Kopala on the other hand have won four of their last six games but this will be their first match without head coach Boyd Mulwanda who has since made a switch to Solwezi.
Buildcon have dominated this fixture and are unbeaten against Power Dynamos in the last seven meetings.
Midfielder, Joshua Mutale is expected to be the creator in chief for the hosts alongside skipper Godfrey Ngwenya.
Buildcon will hope new signing Francis Ronald Olaki can continue with his fine form in front of goal having scored in his debut.
Chambishi vs Nkana
Record 13 time Champions, Nkana will make a short trip to Chambishi to face Chambishi Football Club.
In the reverse fixture Nkana were handed a shock 1-0 defeat at Chilata and coach Beston Chambeshi will be cautious of the threat the team pose.
Nkana have only lost one game, 3-0 away to Red Arrows in their last 9 matches. Meanwhile Chambishi are winless in their last three games.
Nkana will look to skipper Alex Ng’onga to produce the goods upfront with the help of David Obashi and Patrick Gondwe.
Chambishi are desperate for maximum points to move out of the relegation zone hence Nkana will have to work hard to pick up anything from this match.
Nkwazi vs Prison Leopards
In a Friday encounter, Zambia police sponsored outfit, High Flying Nkwazi welcome Prison Leopards at Edwin Imboela Stadium.
The visitors are unbeaten in the last six matches but have drawn four of those matches. Nkwazi have only managed to collect 7 points from a possible 30 points.
The two teams are level on 29 points and have met three times in the past with one win apiece hence a tight affair is expected this afternoon.
