Wedson Nyirenda has applied for the head coach position at Lesotho’s Matlama FC.
According to list obtained by the ZamFoot Crew, the highly rated has been shortlisted with 16 other coaches.
Nyirenda us currently in charge of a locally assembled Zambia squad which has been eliminated at Cosafa Cup.
In August he is expected to lead Zambia at the CHAN tournament.
The experienced coach has won multiple league titles with Zesco United and Zanaco.
He has also coached in Mozambique and South Africa.
Wada Wada is not the only Zambian on the list.
Christopher ‘Gazza’ Tembo has also applied.
Former Malawi senior national team head coach Patrick Mabeli is among the candidates who have applied for the head coach position at Matlama FC, just weeks after the club announced the vacancy.
The list of applicants includes both international and local coaches.
The local contingent features Shalane Lehohla, Thabile Secker, Molebatsi Mothobi, and others.
Finnish manager Steven Polack is among the international coaches who have applied for the Matlama head coach position, as the club seeks a replacement for Halemakale Mahlaha, whose contract expires at the end of this month.
