Wedson Nyirenda declares Lusaka Dynamos ready for NAPSA Stars clash

Coach Wedson ‘Wada-Wada’ Nyirenda is ready for the derby and has done his homework ahead of a Lusaka Dynamos’ clash with local town rivals Napsa Stars.

Wada Wada believes the pensioners should not be where they are on the table as he thinks they are a very good side.

“We are very much ready, We have done our homework we have gone through all the paces we have gone through all the departments from goalkeeping, defense, and attack and I think we are looking set for the game though like you said Napsa is a team in the relegation zone they don’t deserve to be there its a team that is also representing the nation in CAF and they have just qualified to the Group stage so it’s a very dangerous team to play because of the two factors,” he said.

“Yes in the league there are not doing so well but they have done well in the CAF competition so we can not take it for granted that we are playing a small team or a team that has nothing to offer, we are playing a team that is in high spirits so we need to prepare ourselves very well which we have,” he added.

The former Chipolopolo coach says that he is working around the clock to improve finishing in his team.

“I think that disease has been a very big cancer in Zambian football and Africa as a whole it worries so much to every other coach finishing is a big thing, but I think we have come out of it after we started so badly in terms of finishing, in the beginning, we started scoring, they have been a little bit of worrying yes in the last two league games and I think we came through in the last game scoring in added time, I think we are creating very good scoring opportunities which we are not taking, yes we have worked on it and I think the boys are looking sharp in front of the goal we just hope they replicate that in the main game tomorrow,” he said.

Wada Wada has been putting his philosophy across and with time he feels it will all add up.

“First and foremost you have to understand that I am a new coach I have been a new coach to the team, came with my philosophy and concept we have had equally new players coming in, and some few players from the junior team and other players coming in from other teams, at the time that we were thinking that we are making the core of the team you find that we are bringing in another player, Because each player that comes with a different mindset from where they are coming from so we have to re-shape that play into what we are doing here so it took a little bit of time for us to catch up and settle but I think we have good players who have now adapted into our systems and everything so we are not a team which is in a big hurry. We are building slowly but surely we are getting somewhere the boys are doing a very Good job I think we have so many fast learners and they are getting better each day that comes and here we are, we have moved from where we were. I think we are now looking to be a team that can contend for the championship,” He said.

“Before the international break, I think we want to finish number one and go into that very mini-break which we shall not take too much time to rest I think we need to end at number one and see what comes in the next period which is coming.”
