MTN Super League side Zanaco has appointed former Chipolopolo boss Wedson Nyirenda as their head coach in an interim capacity.
Nyirenda takes over from Kelvin Kaindu, Consultant Emmanuel Amunike and assistant Emeka Amadi who have since separated with the Bankers.
Nyirenda makes a return to Zanaco after 12 years having led the Bankers between 2009 and 2011 and guiding them to the 2009 Super League title.
“The Board of Directors and Management of Zanaco Football Club wishes to announce that the Club has separated with the Consultant Coach Mr. Emmanuel Amuneke and the Assistant Coach Mr. Emeka Amadi with immediate effect. The Club has also separated with the Head Coach, Mr. Kelvin Kaindu.
The Board of Directors and Management wish to thank the three Coaches for the services rendered to the Club and accordingly wish the Coaches all the best in their future endeavours,” Reads part of the statement.
Nyirenda will be incharge of the Bankers for the remainder of the 2022/2023 MTN Super League season.

Mr. Wedson Witson Nyirenda is a seasoned Coach, who has coached the Zambia Senior Men’sNational Team, top tier clubs in South Africa and Mozambique and several local Premier league clubs in Zambia, including Zanaco Football Club from 2009 to 2011. He has won a
number of trophies and league titles during his coaching career spanning over 25 years.
The Board of Directors and Management of Zanaco Football Club are confident that Mr. Nyirenda will add value to the Club and inspire the team to greater success.”
Zanaco are currently with 34 points after 28 games and just three points above the relegation Zone.
