Chipolopolo Boys head coach Avram Grant says his side will do everything to win tomorrow when they take on Morocco at the ongoing TotalEnergies CAF African Nations Championship (CHAN) Tournament.
The Israeli gaffer wants the players to show character tomorrow against Morocco.
The Chipolopolo Boys suffered back to back defeats in their opening games of the tournament which Grant says is part of the game.
“We didn’t want to lose the two games but it is part of the game. We are concentrating on our team, not our opponents. Sometimes you lose and draw. We will not copy Morocco but play something that is good for us. We respect Morocco and they play good,” he said
“There is no perfect game. We created chances but it happens. We will do everything to win tomorrow. We need to have the winning mentality, show character after the disappointing two losses. We hope the players react well.”
Grant who was speaking during a pre-match press conference at the Moi International Sports Centre, Kasarani, Grant advised players to use the tournament to market themselves.
The former Chelsea gaffer says the team has been improving in each game and expects more improvement in tomorrow’s match.
“CHAN is a good platform for the local based players to show themselves. Our target is to have many players pay in Europe,” he said.
“We saw them against Congo. It was not a good game, we did better against Angola and I expect more development going into this game.”
Zambia plays Morocco at Nyayo National Stadium at 16h00 CAT (Zambian time) in their Group A third round encounter.
Kenya top Group A on seven points with Angola lying second on four while DR Congo and Morocco have three points with Zambia lying bottom of the table without a point to their name.
Kenya and Angola have played three games while the remaining members have only played two. The top two teams in the group will qualify to the quarterfinals of the TotalEnergies CHAN 2024.
