The Zambia Women’s Under 17 national team has arrived back home from the just-ended inaugural COSAFA under 17 Women’s championship. The U17 managed to walk away with bronze medals at the inaugural Cosafa tournament.
Speaking Upon arrival at the Kenneth Kaunda International Airport, Head coach Kangwa Kaluba thanked all leaders and stakeholders involved in making sure the participation in the tournament as possible.
“To our leaders, we would like to appreciate and say thank you very much for this opportunity you gave to the girls and the technical bench and may you continue empowering the girl child, ” he said.
“If you look at what the U17, U20, and senior it’s giving you an indication that women football in Zambia is really developing and rely on you as our leaders to keep giving us support. This is a caution that Women football is on first and we want to start bringing in medals for the Association and the Country at large,” he added.
Zambia clinched bronze medals at the Inaugural tournament following a 3-0 win over Botswana in the third and fourth playoff.
