Zambia coach Aljosa Asanovic has called on fans to rally behind the team.
Speaking in a post match reaction following Zambia’s 2-1 defeat to Benin in Turkey, Asanovic also said he is aware that how Zambians love football.
“Be behind us because we need the support of the people [fans]. We know how people in Zambia love their football and they waiting us to make them happy,” he said.
Ahead of the Ivory Coast 2023 African Cup of Nations qualifiers in June, the Croat has assured the demanding fans that his team are working hard to put ‘Zambia back on the map.’
“My team and I are working hard and will do everything to put Zambia back on the map of top African teams again.

On any possible friendly matches before the AFCON and CHAN qualifiers start, Asanovic was tight limped.
The next FIFA international break will be at the end of May to June, and therefore no club is obliged to release players.
“I push FAZ to find more dates and friendly matches but the players will be engaged with their clubs. But for sure we need more camps and games.
