Zambia captain Fashion Sakala has said the team is focused ‘on progressing to the next stage.’
Speaking ahead of Friday’s 19:30 kick-off Group A tie against Comoros, the 28 year old has urged his teammates to go an extra mile against the Islanders.
“The team’s focus is still on progressing to the next stage,” Sakala said.
Following Monday’s 1-1 draw against Mali, Zambia has gone on an 11 match winless streak [8 draws, 2 defeats] dating back to the 2012 AFCON.
In the other group match, hosts Morocco will face Mali in a 10pm kickoff.
In Group B, three Southern African countries will in action on match day 2.
Angola and Zimbabwe will clash at 2:30pm.
At 5pm, Egypt and South Africa will go head to head in a repeat of the 1998 African Cup of Nations final.
