Former Zambia National Team captain Enock Mwepu has congratulated the Chipolopolo Boys following their qualification for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations.
Player Rater: Zambia 3-0 Ivory Coast
Mwepu took to Twitter to send his congratulatory message to the Copper Bullets.
Mwepu said this is what the team prayed for, believed in and now it’s being manifested in only his second tweet of the year.
Mwepu was forced to end his playing career prematurely after being diagnosed with a hereditary heart condition last October.
Mwepu, 24, who joined English Premier League side Brighton and Hove Albion for around £20m from Red Bull Salzburg in July 2021, was taken ill while on a flight to join his national side during the international break.
Mwepu was admitted to hospital for four days in Mali before returning to Brighton for further tests.
Zambia returned to the Africa Cup of Nations after an 8 year absence following an impressive performance against Ivory Coast.
A Serge Aurier own goal, and a goal each from Patson Daka and Klings Kangwa gave Zambia a well deserved win in front of a packed Levy Mwanawasa Stadium.

We ar proudly because of your performance guys keep it up.
