It won’t be easy but we are going to win says Wada

Zambia national football team coach Wedson Nyirenda says Tuesday’s reverse fixture with Algeria in Group B of the 2018 Fifa World Cup qualifying campaign will not be easy but believes his team will win.

Nyirenda masterminded a 3-1 win over the Desert Foxes on Saturday and is confident his team can now go on defeat the North Africans in their own back yard.

A win could take Zambia on the brink of qualification should Cameroon beat Nigeria on Monday. Nigeria will qualify if they beat Cameroon and Zambia fail to defeat Algeria.

“It is not going to be easy, Algeria will be at home. They are a big team and we respect them for that. Preparations like in such a manner where we just played a game and started off, in two days time we have to play again, the games are very tricky,” said Nyirenda.

“You tend to know most of the things the other team is doing and they also know what you are doing.”

“For you to re-adjust yourselves, it is very difficult. Taking into consideration the distance we have travelled, we have to look into the players’ recovery period; so there is not much time to do a lot of work. It is more of talking than action.”

“It is not going to be easy but we are going to win.”
