Uganda coach fears foul play in Mali v Zambia game

Uganda coach Milutin ‘Micho’ Sredojevic has expressed fears of foul play as his team heads into a must win final group D fixture against Zimbabwe stating that there is a conflict of interest in the Mali v Zambia game.

Kawowo Sports reports that the Serbian tactician indicated that some players have the same agent in the two teams.

“There is a conflicting interest from the two countries and everyone knows it but I respect both countries. Zambians are led by a honorable football icon – Kalusha. We expect them to play to the best of their ability and respect the game and African football wins. We shall play to the best of our ability against Zimbabwe on Wednesday. We shall play our part as we wait for the results from the other match,” Micho told Kawowosports.

Micho tried to elaborate where the conflict of interest lies with emphasis on particular players from the two countries having the same agent.

Former Mali international Frederick Kanoute tweeted on 18th January wishing Zambia’s Patson Daka and Sekou Koita the best ahead of the tournament.

“All the best to our 12manSports youngest talents Sekou Koita Mali and Patson Daka Zambia for their debut tomorrow for the CHAN2016,” Kanoute tweeted.

Zambia who have already qualified to the quarter finals play Mali at 16:00hrs in Kigali while Uganda engage Zimbabwe at exactly the same time in Rubavu.

  1. This coach is clutching at straws. When has a team given up itself because of players having the same agents? I just hope Zambia comes out guns blazing, because there is no reason to lose or concede any goals at this point.

    • You are right my brother. Actually this Ugandan coach must stop taking hallucinogens. That way he will stop hallucinating. This is a competition for local players, so where did they get those agents he is talking about?

He is the one who is praying for a favour from Zambia,so he should come out in the open and ask, instead of insinuating there may be game fixing. He is praying that Zambia beats Mali( a feat which his team failed), so Uganda can have a chance of qualifying if they beat Zimbabwe. First who told him that Uganda will definitely beat Zimbabwe? He seems not to have seen the potential in the Zim team, and there is chance they could finally rise to the occasion and annihilate his Uganda cranes.

Ba Micho, lets humble ourselves and win or lose with favour.

  2. Zambia should not use Daka ,because Mali are hoping that Zambia to use Daka who does not score goals so that they stand a chance to win or a draw.Lwandamina should not use Patson Daka, this boy does not have the hunger to score goals.Luchanga is much better

  3. Uganda as usual paranoia/fear of the unknown has caught up with them. If you think you’re a good side, why didn’t you just win your first matches to avoid the situation you’re in? You’re suspecting things that are not even there. Zambia wants to win the match against Mali to stamp our authority and to boost the confidence going into the Q8. Just do your best Uganda against Zim and we will worry about Mali.

    • True just becoz someone tweeted then there is a connection what myopic thinking. They shud have won their games. Even if we lose or draw and Mali goes thru he shud blame himself and misfiring forwards. Bushe mukwayi where is stupid Stumpy can u seeur ur Sebian coach now?

  4. Kikkkk yakosa ba coach football brings unity more over we’re al africans wishing someone the best doesnt matter, iam a zambian but i like Aywe guys from Ghana just focus on how you can beat zambia .

  5. Focus on your team, one africa one love wishing a prayer from other country is not a mistake being zambians we’ve been suporting other prayers like okocha, abedi so kanute too like Daka yachupa game chabe.

  6. Iwe coach nomba ninshi…u failed 2 beat us that’s not our problem. Even if we draw wit Mali it won’t be our problem either.

  7. Hahaha, Micho is now stuck with us on Zanfoot jchecking on our game plan. Don’t worry coach,we’ll beat Mali for you but be wary cos Zim don’t want to go home empty handed.

  8. @ Mambwe Zimandola you have made me laugh man,”ati nomba ninshi” kikikikikikikik, mwebe elatubelesha this serbian, we are thru to G8 no match fixing has ever been involved in all our matches if that’s what he means. Yamukosela mambala, akose!!!! When we mean serious business, we are no respectors of coaches, let him ask Carlos Pereira he will tell him what Katongo did to bafanabafana in their backyard, let him ask Kwesi Appia former Ghana coach and former Ivorian coach Zahui what happened to them in 2012. When we beat them their coaches lose jobs after tournaments. The question is; does he have the guts to save his own job now that he started having nightmares of the zambia vs mali outcome??? Kwati naimukoselako umuserbian. But like bembas say “uulelila tabamuceba kukanwa” Go zambia gooooo!!!!!!!!

  10. I was looking out for a coment from that blogger who was praying God almighty could deliver the Chipolopolo into the hands of Nigeria for a beating in this CHAN tournament.
