Zambia U-23 National Team head coach Oswald Mutapa says his team is ready to give it their all this evening when they welcome the Young Pharaohs of Egypt at Levy Mwanawasa Stadium.
Mutapa believes his team can pick positives from the first leg in which they defended well for the majority of the game.
“Of course we expect a tough game. It won’t be an easy game. But we will be equal to the task. What we want is qualification. A tough game but the team has the desire and if we can get positives from the first leg in Egypt,” Mutapa said.
“We could see that we equally had chances to score and we defended solidly for three quarters of the game until the last quarter when we allowed in crosses in the box and conceded. I think we are ready to give it our all.”
Meanwhile Skipper Prince Mumba who missed the first leg due to injury expects a tough match but believes the players will be up for it.
“For us players we will take this game as a second half. We played the first half in Cairo and we saw how the game was played. They had their chances and we had ours, I believe we will take it up from there knowing it will be a tough second half,” the Kabwe Warriors midfielder said.
The Young Chipolopolo need to overturn a 2-0 deficit from the first leg to secure a place in the U23 AFCON final tournament.
The Young Copper Bullets host the Young Pharaohs this evening with kick-off scheduled for 18h00 at the Levy Mwanawasa stadium.
Tickets are available from K50 at CompuTicket in all Shoprite Stores countrywide.
