Zambia U23 National Team head coach Osward Mutapa has named his final squad ahead of the back to back AFCON qualifiers against Egypt.
Power Dynamos midfielder Joshua Mutale and winger Golden Mashata lead the squad that will square off with the Young Pharaohs.
FC MUZA striker Andrew Phiri, Jimmy Mukeya of NAPSA Stars and ZESCO United’s Enock Sakala Jnr are the strikers Mutapa has called upon for the games.
Other notable names include Happy Nsiku, Shapy Chikondi Njobvu, John Kosamu, Prince Mumba, Patrick Gondwe and Wilson Chisala of Zanaco.
European based players in Miguel Chaiwa and Mannah Chiwisa are also expected to join the team on March 19th.
Before facing Egypt, Mutapa’s side will face Niger on Friday in a friendly that both sides will be using to prepare for their final round qualifier against Egypt and Sudan respectively.
Zambia will be away to Egypt in the first leg on March 22nd with the second leg set for the Levy Mwanawasa Stadium on March 27th.
Winner over both legs will qualify for the 2023 U23 TotalEnergies Africa Cup which will be held later this year in November.
