Tanzania U17 Women’s National Team head coach Baraki Shime is still hopeful his side can overturn their 3-0 first leg Morocco 2025 World Cup qualifier loss to Zambia.
Shine feels his side is not out of the match yet as anything can happen in football and three goals are not too many in football terms.
Shine was however quick to congratulate the Copper Princesses for scoring three away goals.
“First let me take this opportunity to thank our fans for coming here to support us and then congratulate our opponents Zambia, 3 away goals,ā he said.
“We did well in the first half in terms of defending and trying to control the game but we conceded a very easy goal, the first goal, it took us out of the game and the second and third goal.ā
“We need to get a very quick recovery of our two players, our striker Winfred Gerald and Lydia Maximilian. I hope we prepare well for the game. Three goals is a lot but not that many in football,ā he added.
The return leg is set for Saturday, 15 March 2025, at Levy Mwanawasa Stadium in Ndola.
The winner over two legs will advance to the final round of qualifiers, where they will face either Benin or DR Congo for a spot at the global tournament set for 17 October ā 8 November in Morocco.
