THE Zambia men’s Under-20 national team’s preparations for the Egypt encounter set for Saturday hit a high gear this evening at the Tolip Annex 1 training facility.
The Boyd Mulwanda led technical bench led the boys through the different phases that saw defender Mathews Banda sit out, while midfielder Joseph Sabobo Banda did some light training.
Defender Mathews Banda was stretched out in the 40th minute in the game against Sierra Leone that ended 0-0 after suffering a minor calf injury,while Sabobo played the entire match despite picking a knock.
Zambia are hoping to make amends for their 2023 outing that saw them make a group stage exit without a win and finish bottom of Group C , with just a point.
In the other Group A opening match, hosts Egypt beat South Africa 1-0 to go top of the table, while Zambia and Sierra Leone each have a point.
Tanzania are bottom of the table, having not played a match yet.
