Two Zambians named in the WAFCON Group Stage’s Best XI

Copper Queens skipper Grace Chanda and defender Lushomo Mweemba have both been named in the WAFCON 2022 Group Stage’s Best XI.

And Morocco’s skipper Ghizlane Chebbak has been named the best player in the WAFCON 2022 group stage.

Green Buffaloes’ Mweemba has been rock solid at the back for Zambia alongside her club mates Martha Tembo, Agnes Musase, and hardworking Margret Belemu.

Zambia has only conceded a goal at the tourney.

Rock solid Lushomo Mweemba has been impressive at the back.

In the absence of Barbara Banda, former Red Arrows striker Grace Chanda has taken up the mantle.

Chanda’s been impressive in the hole as one of the three [Xiomala Mapepe and Aveil Chitundu] behind lanky striker Lubanji Ochumba Oseke.

The skipper has already banged in 2 goals at the tournament.

The midfield twin towers Ireen Lungu and Eva Katongo are also worth mentioning.

On Wednesay, Zambia face Senegal in a mouthwatering quarter final with the winner guaranteed at place at World Cup in New Zealand/Australia.
