Trident Football Club has announced the sudden departure of Head Coach George Chilufya and his Assistant Jackson Mwanza, effective immediately.
According to a statement released by the club, the duo has decided to leave Trident FC to pursue new opportunities.
“We are grateful for their service and commitment to the club,” said Mvula Mangulenje, Chief Executive Officer of Trident FC. “We wish them success in their future endeavors.”
The departure of Chilufya and Mwanza comes as no surprise, with sources close to the matter indicating that the duo had been in talks with other clubs.
Media reports suggest that Kabwe Warriors, who recently parted ways with Albert Kachinga and Chintu Kampamba, are keen on bringing in the experienced coaching pair.
While Trident FC has not officially confirmed the link to Kabwe Warriors, the timing of the departure and the reported interest from the Kabwe-based club suggest that a move may be imminent.
“We will provide further updates regarding the technical team in due course,” added Mangulenje.
The club’s fans will undoubtedly be keeping a close eye on developments, hoping that the new coaching team will bring success to the club.
