Some top clubs in the region and across the country are searching for talents in the Eastern region.
✓ Prison Leopards of Chipata holding midfielder, Noah Ngosa and goalkeeper, Moses Daka nicknamed ‘Oblack’ are in Kabwe with Super League side Prison Leopards. According to a reliable source, the two players have already undergone medicals with the Super League side and won’t travel back to Chipata.
✓ Young Nkwazi striker, Gift Sam Banda populary known as ‘Walter Bwalya’ and left-back Chilando have been linked with a move to Kitwe United, a National League side who were demoted from the Super League last season. Gift and Chilando were part of the Provincial select side which played Zesco United yesterday. Both players had a good season. Gift is one of the most deadly strikers in the region.
✓ Imena Golden Stars’ two strikers, Dryson Phiri and Mathias Lungu who impressed Numba Mumamba in the two friendlies played yesterday at DK stadium have been linked with a move to the Super League side. According to a source close to the development, the two boys will move on a permanent deal to Zesco United. Dryson Phiri was the top scorer of Imena Golden Stars with 24 goals last season, whilst Mathias Lungu was the second top scorer of the club with 19 goals. The source also disclosed that the two boys will travel to Ndola after the elections to finalize the deals.
✓ Katete United attacking-cum-holding midfielder who can also play as a right-back, Vann Banda is on the verge of joining St Francis FC who have already made a transfer request to Katete United.
✓ Katete United’s goalkeeper, Mwewa Kunda is another player who is moving to St Francis FC. It has been revealed that 80% of the paperwork is done and Katete United has accepted the deal for the goalkeeper.
✓ Mika FC, who bought a slot in Division two from Ten Ten FC have signed five players from Prison Leopards FC. Among the signed players is Edward Zulu commonly known as ‘Edward Monto’, a striker who scored nine goals last season and was one of the key players for Leopards last season. Other players who have moved from Prison Leopards to Mika FC are; Chilongozi Lungu, Kalaba Mwape, Joseph Nyirenda, and Frank Banda. Leopards have so far released seven key players and are on a rebuilding process for the upcoming season.
✓ Lumezi United attacking midfielder, who can also play as a winger, Saukani Mwale nicknamed ‘Gadoh’ and spent a season at Katete United is another player who is being chased by Division one sides Petauke United, St Francis and Katete Rangers as well as Katete United. However, the player has made it clear that he can only make a move if a good deal is presented to him. He is one of good attacking midfielders who can add value to any team in the region.
✓ Nyimba United attacking winger, Anthony Shimpanunka, who can play in both wings is another under 20 talented player whose signature is being chased by Sinda United and Petauke United. The boy is still a schoolboy who is expected to complete his grade twelve this year. Shimpanunka is an amazing 17-year-old boy who posseses great talent. He was also part of the Provincial select side and played the last 17 minutes of the game against Zesco United yesterday.
✓ Mika FC has also acquired the services of four Zesco Chipata players including first choice goalkeeper Owen Kasoka, striker Wezzy Jere, Gift Mubanga nicknamed ‘Adebayo’, and Philip Banda. Mikalile FC have also signed Genesis attacking midfielder Michelo Musanje for the upcoming season as they aim just for Division one promotion.
✓ Zesco Chipata defenders Conellious Ngulube and Danny Chaponda, who impressed Numba Mumamba in the Friendlies are also likely to join Zega Mambo side.
✓ Katete United have made a contact with Coach Zimbabwe, former Noble Blue Eagles head coach who once worked with Katete United. It ia believed United wants to bring back coach ‘Zim-Zim’ as their head coach for the upcoming season. Coach Zimbabwe spent his last season with Young Nkwazi FC as assistant coach to Hamz. According to a source close to the development, Zim Zim is already in his homeland Katete to strike deal with the council sponsored side, Katete United.
✓ Another Katete United player who is on the verge of a move is Khuzwayo. The attacking winger is currently training with Imena Golden Stars. It is understood that Imena Golden Stars has already submitted their transfer request to Katete United.
✓ Panza FC are still interested in the services of National Assembly player, Gibson who is currently training with them. However, Gibson has made it clear he can only sign for the army sponsored side if a good deal is tabled. According to a reliable source, Zesco Chipata is also interested in the services of Gibson who has no intention of returning to Lusak. Gibson has played Super League football with National Assembly before the Parliamentarers were relegated to Division One Zone One.
