Time to ‘Tonka Twende’ for Green Eagles

Zambia’s envoys in the CAF Confederation Cup, Green Eagles this afternoon look to progress to the next round as they take on Musongati FC of Burundi at Nkoloma stadium.

In the first leg, Green Eagles put in a good shift away in Burundi as they managed to score two away goals as they played to a 2-2 draw after coming from a goal down.

The fans are expecting an interesting match this afternoon as both teams will throw everything including the kitchen sink just to make sure they qualify for the next round.

Green Eagles have been boosted by the return of Amity Shamende and defensive kingpin Andrew Kwiliko to the squad after they both missed the first leg due to injuries.

Eagles head coach Aggrey Chiyangi is very much aware of the expectations from both fans and the ZNS Command hence a win is a must for him and the Kawale Boys.

Green Eagles go into this match will a slight advantage due to the two away goals scored in Burundi. A win, scoreless, or one all draw will see Eagles qualify to the next round, However, Musongati must be taken with caution as they can pull a surprise as everything is possible in football.

Chiyangi is expected to start with experienced Allan Chibwe in goal with Andrew Kwiliko and Warren Kunda partnering in the heart of the defense.

The midfield is likely to be controlled by Gozon Mutale, Samson Chilupe, Amity Shamende with Hosea Silwimba having a very good chance of either starting or being used as a game-changer. Upfront experienced Lineker Mwikisa is likely to partner with in-form Anos Tembo.

The match this afternoon will kick-off at 15 hours CAT at Nkoloma stadium in Lusaka.
