The Zambia National Team will need to dig deep if they are to at least get even a point this evening when they come up against Morocco to ensure their chances of qualifying for the 2026 FIFA World Cup remains in their own hands.
Zambia are currently second in group E after beating Congo Brazzaville 4-2 on Match Day one before losing 2-1 to Niger on Match Day 2.
The Chipolopolo Boysā strength for a long time has relied on their potent forward with Fashion Sakala Jnr and Lameck Banda making a big part of that front three.
However, the Saudi Arabia based forward was left out of the squad for the back to back qualifiers.
Meanwhile Lameck Banda is in Dubai doing rehab following his surgery hence Avram Grant could turn to Edward Chilufya.
āThe Tigerā has yet to roar at the Senior National team going 629 minutes without a goal contribution.
Chilufya was however very lethal at the U-20 National Team where he netted six goals and made two assists in 11 appearances, one of which came at the 2017 FIFA U-20 World Cup.
Chilufya netted four goals as Zambia went on to win the 2017 U-20 Africa Cup of Nations on home soil.
Prior to linking up with his Chipolopolo teammates, Chilufya was on target at club level as he helped BK Hacken to a 4-1 win over AIK.
With Fashion and Lameck Banda not available for selection, Grant could now turn to the Sweden based forward to provide questions for the Atlas Lions defence this evening.
Zambia will need all their best assets to come to the party this evening as they come up against Morocco.
The match kicks off at 21:00 hours (Zambian Time) at the Stade Adrar in Agadir.
Winners of each Group will automatically qualify for the FIFA World Cupā¢ 2026.
The four best runners-up (from the Groups) will play in a CAF Play-Off tournament.
The winner of the CAF Play-Off Tournament will play in the FIFA Play-off Tournament.
