Zambia U-17 Women’s national team head coach Kaluba Kangwa says the team is ready for the tournament which is set to kick off Wednesday, 4th November 2020.
Kaluba believes the time has come to implement what the technical bench has been teaching the lasses during the last one month of preparation.
Kaluba reiterated that the under-17 was a developing project and was hoping to expose a lot of girls to play at the highest level through the COSAFA innovation.
“The girls are ready for the challenge and the technical bench are ready for the challenge, We have prepared very well and very excited, The time has now come for us to see the real implementation of what we have been learning and we have encouraged the girls to go enjoy, have fun and do the right thing at all times,” Kaluba told the ZamFoot Crew before departure for South Africa on Sunday afternoon.
“It’s a team that they should support continuously remember that the under -17 is a developmental project that we have and we want to expose as many players that can start playing at the highest level. The more players we are going to expose we will realize that we have a strong senior and U-20 national teams,” he added.
Kaluba who also doubles up as Bauleni United Sports Academy head coach feels the girls will also learn something new like character from the senior team as he believes learning every day is very important.
“We are excited that they will be learning a lot. You can see a lot of character in the senior team, There there to emulate some of the girls in the senior team and also start their journey which is very important,” he said.
Zambia will open its account on November 4, 2020, with a titanic clash against hosts South Africa before facing Tanzania 48 hours later. Kangwa’s lasses will then play Comoros on November 10 before concluding their outing with a game against Zimbabwe two days later.
